Customer Service Rep

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time job

Job Summary: Proactively interacts with customers and maintains the store to ensure a positive store experience.

  • Creates a positive store atmosphere by smiling, greeting, and providing a pleasant, friendly experience. Maintains personal appearance per dress code.
  • Proactively engages customers in conversation about products that Blockbuster offers both in and out of store.
  • Resolves customers’ issues and demonstrates empathy for customers’ situations when needed.
  • Processes transactions quickly and without errors while utilizing the computerized point of sale system to complete both credit and cash transactions and maintains member accounts.
  • Ensures store appearance is in compliance with ongoing marketing programs, product is displayed timely and appropriately, and the store is clean and maintained per company standards.
  • Follows all policies as it relates to member data, Loss Prevention procedures, and cash handling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Great customer service and sales skills
  • Knowledge of movies and games
  • Flexibility to work shifts as needed
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Assistant Store Manager

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time job

Job Summary: The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supervising Customer Service Representatives and coaching Shift Leaders as needed. You are also responsible for store operations during the Store Manager’s absence. Other duties include:

  • Assists in the creation of a positive customer experience that includes a proactive interaction and immediate resolution for customer issues as needed.
  • Shares overall responsibility for setting, monitoring, and driving sales goals set by the strategic sales plan. Assist in setting, communicating and executing marketing and merchandising programs to achieve key marketing initiatives.
  • Responsible for assigning individual shift goals to employees and following up with each of them to ensure delivery of goals.
  • Assist SM with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, developing, evaluating, coaching, and counseling store employees.
  • Ensures the proper cash controls and loss prevention procedures are in place and followed. Prepares and supports the inventory process by conducting pre-counts and participating in inventories.
  • Ensures that store appearance and merchandising is in compliance with ongoing marketing programs, product is displayed timely and appropriately, and the store is clean and maintained per company standards.
  • Processes administrative tasks as needed including reviewing and taking action on daily reports and participating in the identification of financial strengths and opportunities on a monthly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college or degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years retail sales/customer service experience
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience

Shift Leaders

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time job

Job Summary: As the Manager on Duty, responsible for supervising and coaching Customer Service Representatives to create a positive customer experience while achieving sales results.

  • Directs employees in the creation of a positive customer experience that includes a proactive interaction and immediate resolution of customer issues as needed.
  • Has the responsibility for meeting sales goals for their shift set by the store manager.
  • Responsible for assigning individual shift goals to employees and following up with each of them to ensure delivery of goals.
  • Coaches and develops CSR’s on their shift per standard and as needed.
  • Ensures that proper inventory, cash controls, and loss prevention procedures are in place and followed.
  • Processes administrative tasks as needed including reviewing and taking action on daily reports.
  • Ensures store appearance and merchandising is in compliance with ongoing marketing programs, product is displayed timely and appropriately, and the store is clean and maintained per company standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year prior retail sales/customer service experience
  • Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
